2021 Gainesville Senior Games COVID-19 Updates – As of August 17, 2021
COVID-19 Warning: An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death.
By attending any Gainesville Sports Commission and Senior Games event you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and you must follow all instructions listed below:
***FOR ALL EVENTS – You must bring your own water, drinks, and snacks. Coolers are allowed in all venues. We will not be providing any water, drinks, or snacks on site at the events this year as a safety precaution.***
All attendees will be required to sign a COVID-19 specific waiver upon entry into the Games
Archery
- Masks will be required for check in and registration
- Attendees will be asked to social distance while on site at the event
Basketball Shooting and 3v3 – Event Canceled
Bowling – Event Canceled
Cycling
- Masks will be required for check in
- Attendees will be asked to social distance while on site at the event
- No onsite registration
- Holders will not be provided. If you need a holder, you must have your own.
- Start time has been moved up to 8:30AM on Friday, September 17
- Line ups – Age groups will be spaced out to allow for social distancing
Golf
- Masks will be required for check in
- Attendees will be asked to social distance while on site at the event
- There will be one person per golf cart
Pickleball
- Masks will be required for check in
- Attendees will be asked to social distance while on site at the event
- No onsite registration
- We will not be pairing partners this year. You must have your own partner
- To turn in your score sheet and ball, you must be wearing a mask
- To check the bracket board, you must be wearing a mask
- Only players that are actively participating in a game will be allowed inside the court gate
Swimming
- Masks will be required for check in, coming into the pool deck, and in the locker rooms
- Temperature checks will be required upon entry into the pool deck per City of Gainesville protocols
- Attendees will be asked to social distance while on site at the event
- No onsite registration
Track & Field
- Masks will be required for check in
- Attendees will be asked to social distance while on site at the event
- No onsite registration
- Only participants actively participating in a heat will be allowed on the track or field event areas. You must remain in the bleachers until your event/heat is called.
Table Tennis
- Postponed to October 16, 2021
- Masks will be required for check in
- Masks will be required to be worn at all times when not actively participating in a game
- Attendees will be asked to social distance while on site at the event
- We will not be pairing partners this year. You must have your own partner
- To turn in your score sheet and ball, you must be wearing a mask
